Job Brief

  • 12 months Contract position.
  • Lead and manage the progress and performance of the Contractor and instruct the Contractor on necessary procedures and actions to be taken to improve progress and performance.
  • Oversee site discussions on issues about construction and attend site meetings to resolve matters, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Organise the implementation of corrective actions as necessary to address any deviations from the project plan.
  • Monitor contractor’s compliance with contractual obligations, including deliverables, timelines, and specifications.
  • Provide regular reports on project status and finances highlighting key milestones, issues, and risks.
  • Communicate and exchange information among stakeholders, ensuring precise and timely dissemination of project-related information.
  • Advise JKR Sarawak on the performance of the Contractor, Consultant and Nominated Sub-Contractor.
  • Lead and manage quality assurance processes and procedures to verify and report the quality of materials and construction works undertaken by the Contractor.
  • Regularly review and report on the quality control activities performed by the Contractor, identifying areas for improvement.

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering/Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies, including planning, organizing, and monitoring project progress to ensure successful project delivery.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering construction processes, techniques, and best practices, including an understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Previous experience working with diverse stakeholders such as clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, including relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
