Position Summary
The GM/Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process within the factory,ensuring , efficiency , quality , and safety standards are met . This role involves managing a team of production staff . coordinating production schedules , optimizing workflow and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enchance factory operations .
Job Description
- Production Management
- Plan , organize and oversee the production process to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing of palates.
- Develop production schedules and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets.
- Monitor production output , quality standards , and compliance with production specifications.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of production supervisors and line workers.
- Provide guidance,training and support to ensure staff perform their duties effectively and adhere to safety protocols .
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork,motivation and employee development.
- Quality Assurance
- Implement quality control measures to maintain product quality and consistency .
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues or deviations from standards .
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures .
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations , including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety procedures .
- Conduct safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness among factory staff.
- Investigate and address any safety incidents or near misses in a timely manner.
- Inventory Management
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials , components , and finished products to support production needs .
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely supply of materials and efficient inventory management practices .
- Continuos Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction initiatives .
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuos improvement methodologies to enchance efficiency and productivity .
- Analyse production data and performance metrics to drive operational improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing , or related field . (Preferred)
- Proven experience in production management , preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team .
- Knowledge of production processes , equipment , and quality control principles .
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision – making skills
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills .
- Proficiency in MS Office and production management software .
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing production demands.
- Willingness to take on hands-on tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
